There is absolutely nothing we can do to earn God’s favor.

That is humbling.

So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.

And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Romans 9:16, Micah 6:8 ESV
